Everstream CEO Brett Lindsey to Speak at Metro Connect USA

Joins CEO panel focusing on fiber challenges and opportunities in 2020: February 11 in Miami

Press Releases - Jan 30, 2020 -

CLEVELAND – Everstream, the business-only fiber network, today announced that President and CEO Brett Lindsey will debate the state of the fiber industry on a CEO panel at Metro Connect USA 2020, held February 10-12, at the Nobu Hotel Eden Roc in Miami Beach, Florida.

Lindsey will join the “The Metro Fiber Vision for 2020” panel to discuss the state of the metro fiber landscape in the U.S. and around the world, the impacts of 5G, and market opportunities that are driving the growth of metro fiber rollouts in 2020 and beyond. Everstream is a gold sponsor of the event.

The topic of the CEO panel plays strongly into Everstream’s business goals for 2020, with an aggressive build-and-buy strategy that includes a total capital investment of $250 million, the addition of five new markets, and the hiring of 100 new employees.

Everstream plans to actively continue its network build to provide high-capacity, low-latency connectivity to businesses throughout the Midwest while also strategically pursuing acquisition and partnership opportunities that will help densify the network already in place. These factors will help Everstream reach its goal of 15,000 route miles of fiber deployed across the Midwest to meet the need of the region’s growing businesses.

The panel, held on Tuesday, February 11, at 10:40 a.m., will address themes such as:

  • The current metro fiber landscape across the U.S. and how it differs from other parts of the world
  • The network demands of 5G and current levels of preparation
  • Fiber densification in metro markets
  • Adapting fiber infrastructure to facilitate future automation and innovation demands

“As enterprises increasingly demand bandwidth to serve their growing businesses, it’s important for the industry to gather, discuss and strategize the needs and challenges of the evolving metro market,” Lindsey said. “Metro Connect is the perfect venue for Everstream to debate the future demands this growth will place on network infrastructure. I look forward to discussing with my fellow CEOs the role companies like Everstream play in helping to satisfy this demand.”

Joining Lindsey on the panel are Timothy G. Biltz, CEO of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications; Andrew Lipman, Senior Partner and Chair, Telecommunications, Media and Technology Practice at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Kurt Van Wagenen, President and CEO of FirstLight Fiber; and Jack Waters, President of Zayo Networks and Chief Operating Officer of Zayo Group.
