CLEVELAND – Everstream has earned its fourth Smart Culture Award from Smart Business Magazine, which explores how culture can become an asset to drive performance, transform an organization into an employer-of-choice and, ultimately, impact the bottom line. Everstream also was recognized in 2020, 2019 and 2017.
In a challenging year, Everstream held strong to its corporate values and signature mottos, including “Happy people. Happy customers.”
“Everstream worked hard to maintain our culture throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. As an essential business during this time, our top priority was and continues to be keeping our employees safe while delivering essential services to our customers,” said Everstream President and CEO Brett Lindsey. “We were fortunate to continue with our expansion efforts — opening a new local office in Chicago, increasing the size of our team by more than 50%, and integrating two acquisitions in Detroit and Indianapolis during less than ideal circumstances.”
Despite the impact the pandemic had on many organizations, Everstream built more than 10.5 million feet of new fiber in 2020.
Throughout the year, Everstream shifted its traditional happy hours and team lunches to virtual happy hours and boxed, grab-and-go lunches. Instead of the usual potluck or holiday-themed events, team members submitted grade school and senior yearbook pictures — competing for bragging rights in categories such as “Best Hair” and “The Benjamin Button Award.”
In 2021, Everstream has continued with this path to both keep its employees safe and culture strong.
Everstream is among 25 Northeast Ohio organizations, including Cleveland Cavaliers & Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland Clinic and Lubrizol Corporation, that will be recognized at this year’s virtual Smart Culture Awards, on Tuesday, April 13, at 9 am.
