CLEVELAND – For the fourth time in the company’s history, Everstream, the business-only fiber network, has been named a NorthCoast 99 recipient — recognized as a best workplace for top talent for 2020.
“The NorthCoast 99 award celebrates organizations that make a commitment to attracting and retaining top talent, and we are honored to be selected for the fourth time,” said Everstream President and CEO Brett Lindsey. “The concept of ‘Happy People. Happy Customers.’ is a key corporate mantra that we embrace fully across the business.”
NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program and event that honors 99 great Northeast Ohio workplaces for top talent. The program includes a rigorous application process that reviews in detail how each organization addresses top-performer attraction, development, and retention in six distinct areas: organizational strategy, policies, and benefits; talent attraction, acquisition, and onboarding; employee well-being; employee engagement and talent development; total rewards; and diversity and inclusion.
“More than a business award or event, NorthCoast 99 is a yearlong research project that ERC established to help employers make a notable difference not only in the lives of their employees, but also in the economic vitality of their communities,” said Samantha Marx, ERC director of client service, who oversees the program.
In 2019, Everstream hired a dedicated in-house Talent Acquisition Partner whose sole focus on full-cycle recruitment company-wide proved instrumental to the company’s rapid expansion throughout the Midwest. Notably, Everstream nearly doubled its workforce across all markets and increased headcount in Cleveland by almost 15%.
Because employee engagement and peer-based recognition also are core tenets at Everstream, the company launched Bonus.ly, an online portal and application that functions much like Facebook or LinkedIn, where employees can give public praise and points to team members throughout the month. Team members, who then cash out their earned points for gift cards, to PayPal or to make charitable contributions, quickly embraced the new platform.
The 2020 NorthCoast 99 Awards program is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield; CareerCurve; Cleveland Magazine; ERChealth; Gino’s Awards; Impact Architects; Maloney + Novotny; Wayfind Creative; Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis; Oswald Companies; Staffing Solutions Enterprises; and Ultimate Software.
