CLEVELAND – Everstream has been named a 2020 Smart Culture Award recipient by Smart Business Magazine. This is the company’s third Smart Culture Award, which recognizes businesses that maintain a smart culture that drives performance, transforms the organization into an employer-of-choice and, ultimately, impacts the bottom line. Everstream also was honored in 2019 and 2017.
Everstream’s “Do what you say you will do” mantra — also known as DWYSYWD — is the lynchpin of a corporate culture where integrity, transparency and open communication are paramount. DWYSYWD can be found on t-shirts donned throughout the week and the walls in Everstream’s offices every day.
While the acronym may take a moment to figure out, the principle has a simple, meaningful belief behind it: Show up. Put forth the effort. Honor your commitments.
“2019 proved to be a banner year for Everstream. We expanded into new markets, including Columbus, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and St. Louis. We opened offices and hired local staff in each of those new markets,” said Everstream President and CEO Brett Lindsey. “Throughout this growth, we have been purposeful about maintaining Everstream’s culture — following through on our commitments, ensuring that new team members are a good fit and implementing initiatives that keep our culture top of mind.”
In 2019, Everstream nearly doubled its workforce across all markets and increased headcount in Cleveland by almost 15 percent. This unprecedented growth is in alignment with the company’s Midwest expansion efforts and is expected to continue in 2020.
Despite this growth, all new employees still interview with Lindsey to ensure new team members have the right attitude and are a good cultural fit for Everstream. Once hired, new team members sit down for an in-person, one-on-one meeting with Lindsey after 30 days on the job to ensure the individual is settling into the new position, happy with the work, and to answer any questions.
Everstream is among 20 Northeast Ohio organizations, including Achieve Incentives and Meetings, Bravo, Channel Products, Home Instead Senior Care, and Squirrels, that will be recognized during the 2020 Smart Culture Conference, to be held Thursday, March 19, at LaCentre Conference & Banquet Facility in Westlake, Ohio.
